LOVE your Self: CELEBRATE + HONOR your body

Self-love, is the unshakeable unconditional love + respect you have for your Self. It is reflected in the situations + relationships you have with others as well as the one you have with your Self. Your relationship with your Self sets the tone for your relationships with others. How you treat yourself through love and care influences others in how they treat you, while we are taught to have little expectation of others, this doesn’t mean we can’t have a high standard for the love, respect and kindness we show ourselves.

How do we determine our level of Self-love? It can be measured in our inner dialogue. Simply put, your inner dialogue is your thoughts. It's the little voice in your head that narrates what's going on in your life, around you and what you are thinking - consciously and sub-consciously.

Dive deeper by asking yourself these questions:

-what stories do you tell yourself over + over again?

-have those stories turned into beliefs?

-how can you speak more gently to your Self?

Our self-love can also be determined by how we treat ourselves. this goes beyond our internal dialogue and expressed by how we show up for ourselves. it is reflected in our consistency, and our discipline to commitments to ourselves.

Dive deeper by asking yourself these questions:

-do we stay committed to our personal goals?

-do we set boundaries for ourselves and others?

-do we set time aside for self-care?

Five Ways to Honor + Celebrate Your Body:

1. Speak affirmations out loud daily. There is no one else in the world like you. You are you, and you are beautiful. Practice body love + self-acceptance through repeating loving affirmations to your Self. You can do this silently but it is far more powerful to speak your affirmations out loud - own them, embrace them, embody them.

-“I AM..a beautiful + divine expression of Source.”

-“I AM..resilient, my strength is admirable.”

-“I AM..a powerful co-creator of my reality.”

*add anything you like after the statement, “I AM..” and watch your world change.

2. Create a Self-care routine. Take a long hot bath, add essential oils, light a candle and indulge in your favorite book. Treat yourself to a facial, or a massage - whatever allows you to rest and relax in your skin, and appreciate all that your physical body does for you daily.

3. Eat Nourishing Food. We already have ditched the idea of a diet, we’re embracing a clean eating lifestyle. When you nourish your body with healthy, clean, plant foods you are fueling your body with vitamins, and nutrients that allow it to function at its absolute best!

4. Move your body. Commit to a consistent exercise routine that leaves you feeling empowered, strong and clearheaded. Exercise releases endorphins which boosts your mood and regulates hormones which makes it an essential physical act of health care.

-A daily walk

-Take a challenging or gently yoga class

-Try High Intensity Interval Training or boxing!

-Dancing in front of your mirror *simple, cost effective + one of my personal faves :-)

5. Trust your Self. We are all intuitive beings, the feeling you get in your stomach or the flutter in your heart’s center is REAL - that is your intuition and it speaks to you every day. As you refine your relationship with your intuition, the clearer it speaks to you. This simple act of trusting and following your intuition is a revolutionary way to love yourself fully + completely.

*BONUS: Laugh, and laugh often. Laughter is healing for our mood and our hearts. Find joy in the simplest moments life has to offer, it is in the simplicity that we reconnect to ourselves, to our spirits and to our gratitude practice.
